Just a Quick Hello / Ein kurzes Hallo

Somehow travelling is so intense at the moment that I do not really manage to update our blog the way I would like to. Though you should know that all three of us are fine.

Right now we are in Kigoma (in the west of Tanzania), close to the Gombe Stream National Park (where Jane Goodall studied the wild chimpanzees), sitting in a restaurant on the shore of Lake Tanganyika with a view to D.R.C. (Congo) on the other side of the lake (s. first pic).

As Albert Einstein once said: "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." We choose "the other" way.

Enclosed please find a few pictures of our time between the Mursi and Kigoma, as some kind of teaser for the upcoming posts about our recent weeks in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania. (Pictures are in chronological order from today backward-sorted.)

 

Ein kurzes Hallo

Unsere Reise ist derzeit so intensiv, dass ich leider nicht dazu komme, den Blog umfassend zu aktualisieren. Doch ihr sollt zumindest wissen, dass es uns dreien gut geht.

Im Moment sind wir in Kigoma (im Westen Tansanias), in der Nähe des Gombe-Stream-Nationalparks (hier hat Jane Goodall die wilden Schimpansen erforscht), sitzen in einem Restaurant am Ufer des Lake Tanganyika und genießen den Blick auf den See bis hin zum Kongo (D.R.C.) an der anderen Uferseite.

Wie sagte Albert Einstein einst so treffend: "Es gibt zwei Arten, sein Leben zu leben: entweder so, als wäre nichts ein Wunder, oder so, als wäre alles eines." Wir leben nach der "oder so"-Art.

Anbei für euch vorab einige Fotos aus unserer Zeit zwischen den Mursi und Kigoma... als Teaser für die kommenden Posts über unsere vergangenen Wochen in Äthiopien, Kenia, Uganda, Ruanda, Burundi und Tansania. (Fotos sind in chronologischer Reihenfolge, diesmal rückwärts: die aktuellsten zuerst.)
